Who Can Apply

Anybody who needs help to buy their own home can apply for the New Build HomeBuy scheme. We will give priority to people who fit any of the following criteria:

Basic Criteria

• First time buyers

• People who cannot afford to buy a property outright but who can access enough funds to pay for a shared ownership property.

• People whose relationships have broken down and cannot afford to buy a property on the open market.

• Current social tenants in housing association or local authority properties.

• Those registered on a local authority housing register.

• Those whose current housing is unsuitable.

• Key workers (eg teachers, nurses, firefighters, police officers).

• People with local connections eg. by employment or family ties.
