How shared ownership can help
With shared ownership, you buy a share of your home and rent the rest. So your mortgage is smaller, more affordable and easier to get approval for. And you can take that important first step on the property ladder.
The governments new shared ownership scheme, called New Build HomeBuy, lets you buy a brand new, purpose built home on your own at an affordable monthly outlay. Your mortgage and rent combined are often one third less than a mortgage on its own would be.
